ABOUT MUSE

MUSE is a weekly high school theater program for Twin Cities metro students in grades 10-12 to develop theater skills, learn about career opportunities, and connect with the local theater community. MUSE members

  • advanced their theater skills across performance and design.

  • connected with professional theaters and theatermakers while learning about careers and opportunities in the theater industry.

  • increased their knowledge of Asian American history, theater history, and literature.

  • gained a closer relationship with Theater Mu, the Midwest’s largest Asian American theater.

MUSE meets every Monday from Sept 15 through Dec 15, 5-7 pm, at the Mu Studio, and additional outings included a walking tour about East Side’s immigration history, a theatrical production, a play reading, and an art exhibit.

Mu was born out of a need for AAPI representation in American theater, and we represent the Asian American diaspora, honoring our identity as Asian Americans while also respecting our diverse backgrounds and experiences. Our past participants have specifically pointed out the joy of sharing theater with other AAPI budding artists, and for this reason, we will prioritize students who identify as Asian or Asian American for enrollment.
