Meet our new development manager, Emily D. H. Olson
Hello, all!
My name is Emily D. H. Olson, and I am honored to join the Mu team for this next season of growth and impact. I’ve attended numerous Mu productions and have been in awe of their ability to create community, to educate, and to inspire through each artistic endeavor. I was graciously welcomed as the new development manager, and I look forward to learning more about Mu as I share my skills and experience in this new role.
I am a Midwest native, and I’ve spent over 25 years as a leader in nonprofit organizations. My experience includes development and fundraising, strategic planning, operations and systems, people culture, and organizational and leadership coaching. Here in Minnesota, I have served Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity, St. Croix Valley Opera, Locally Grown Theatre, She Rock She Rock, and Basic Needs, as well as consulting with many nonprofits across the United States. In addition, I have been a pianist, vocalist, actor, and music director in theatre, education, and sacred contexts for 30 years. My recent work includes shows at Ashland Productions, Lyric Arts, Off-Broadway Musical Theatre, Morris Park Players, Rosetown Playhouse, Children's Performing Arts, and the Renegade Ensemble, as well as many high school programs throughout the Twin Cities. Outside of work and the arts, I enjoy time with my husband Bryan and my son Kenneth and our cats, reading, hiking, movies, cooking, and a big comfy blanket. I am excited and energized to join the Theater Mu team!
