SEEKING MU’S NEXT Education & PROGRAMS MANAGER
Title: education & programs manager
Status: full-time at 32 hours per week
Location: Theater Mu offices (755 Prior Ave N #107, Saint Paul, MN 55104) and at various program locations
Compensation: $45,000 annual plus benefits
Theater Mu’s education & programs manager candidates must display a commitment to deepen connection and growth in the Twin Cities Asian American artistic community, be detail-oriented, and hold core values of equity and social justice. The education & programs manager will oversee all aspects of Mu’s youth and adult education division. This includes educational outreach programs development; managing short- and long-term program goals; maintaining and deepening relationships with program partners; facilitating curriculum development; managing teaching artists; and handling administrative logistics that are required to book workshops and establish residencies with school partners and beyond.
This position reports to the artistic director.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, organize, and manage the array of educational programs.
Collect, record, and archive the impact of our programs for further development.
Identify and connect with potential program partners.
Analyze risks, manage unanticipated changes, and adjust accordingly to ensure long and short-term program goals are met while adhering to program budgets.
Manage administrative logistics of scheduling workshops/residencies, hiring teaching artists, and contracting talent for various program opportunities.
Plan and coordinate program-related events including but not limited to researching and booking venue spaces, caterers, and artists.
Recruit, train, and manage teaching artists to ensure preparedness in leading or assisting on programs’ curricula.
Maintain program curricula is up-to-date and fulfills program strategic goals, developing/incorporating updates as needed.
Brainstorm and design potential programs that align with Mu’s mission and values.
As needed, represent Theater Mu by tabling, speaking, and presenting at off-site engagements and workshops.
Work with managing director and grants support to seek and establish fundraising and development opportunities to ensure uninterrupted delivery of program offerings.
Work and strategize with the marketing & communications director to identify specific marketing needs for relevant public program offerings and events to ensure successful attendance.
Coordinate and lead community events that support the mainstage season, including moderating audience talkbacks.
Participate in Mu events including but not limited to opening nights, fundraisers, donor events, etc. This may include evening and weekend hours.

Ability to create and manage program budgets.
Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders (artists, vendors, donors, community partners).
Access to a personal vehicle to transport program supplies.
Comfortable representing Mu in media interviews and at public-facing events.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A connection to the artistic community, teaching/education background, and/or experience in nonprofits or programs management.
Experience or familiarity with grant writing and management.
Familiarity with Google Suite, Canva, Emma, Slack, Asana.
