A Season Update From Our Directors

Cambodian Rock Band

With a heavy heart, we at Theater Mu, along with our partners at the Jungle Theater, announce the cancellation of our upcoming co-production of Lauren Yee's CAMBODIAN ROCK BAND, originally set to run June 24 - August 2, 2020. Though the show will not be featured in either of our 2020/2021 seasons, we will continue pursuing a partnership to produce it in the future.

We love Lauren's work, and given Mu is one of her artistic homes, we look forward to welcoming her back soon. We’re also grateful to the Jungle and to the artists who have been sharing their immense talents with us on this production.

We stand in solidarity and empathy with people and organizations around the world during this challenging time. Through this uncertain moment, Mu is currently financially stable. A big thanks to our fans and supporters who are making it possible for us to focus on what’s important— supporting our artists, staff, and the company of CAMBODIAN ROCK BAND.

We believe theater will thrive again, and we regret that we can’t gather and share art in person. That’s why we’re also concentrating on curriculum and program development and offering virtual events, including our Mu Mondays, Mu-tini Hour, and Family Explorations. We are committed to continuing to connect with you, with our audiences, and with the theater community at large, even from a distance.

Sending good health and peace to you and yours,
