ABOUT MU
Theater Mu is the second largest Asian American theater company in the nation. Founded in 1992, Mu’s continuing goal to celebrate and empower the Asian American community through theater is achieved through mainstage productions, emerging artist support, and educational outreach programs. Theater Mu is a member of the Consortium of Asian American Theaters & Artists as well as a member of the Twin Cities Theatres of Color Coalition, proudly standing alongside New Native Theatre, Pangea World Theater, Penumbra Theatre, and Teatro Del Pueblo.
To the left is a link to our DEI statement (published May 2022) as well as some of the statements we have made expressing our outrage and heartbreak over the shootings that have plagued our Asian American and BIPOC communities in the past several years.
In June 2020 alone, after George Floyd’s murder, we posted dozens of articles on intersectional racism and allyship, amplified events focused on how to be an ally or support those affected by the civil unrest, and shared other resources such as lists of local Black businesses to support and Mu’s own free social justice posters.
