The Guthrie Presents a Mu Performing Arts production of
Yellow Face
by David Henry Hwang
directed by Rick Shiomi
David Henry Hwang delivers headspinning comedy that packs poignancy with a punch. Through Hwang’s alter ego, DHH, Yellow Face takes us from the pinnacle of his Tony Award-winning M. Butterfly downward through the Miss Saigon controversy and a landscape of missteps, broken relationships, and political investigations.
As the play that earned Hwang the honor of 2008 Pulitzer Prize finalist, Yellow Face is teeming with humorous insights that remind us that good intentions do not always win out in the end.
